Pure black, speckled, or connect: which rubber tile will you choose?
All our tiles measure 100 x 100 x 2 cm and feature an easy-clean top layer that you simply mop. They differ in color and finish:
- Pure black (€ 44.95). Uniform black, with R10 slip resistance and 34 dB impact sound insulation. For example, the Pure black easy clean tile.
- Speckled (€ 44.95 to € 49.95). A grey or blue speckle in the top layer makes dust and shoe prints less visible. For example, the Pure black with 30% grey speckle.
- Connect (€ 49.95 to € 54.95). Minimal seams, trapping very little dirt. For example, the Stone connect.

What should you look out for?
Tile construction
Each tile has a 2 mm top layer on an 18 mm base layer. The top layer provides grip and is waterproof. The base layer absorbs shocks and noise and distributes the weight of racks and machines.
How many tiles you need
One tile is exactly 1 m². A 3 x 4 m garage therefore requires 12 Pure black tiles, totaling € 539.40. If one 3 m side is open to the rest of the room, 6 transition profiles are added, totaling € 77.22.
Maintenance and odor
The dense top layer does not become porous, so sweat and dirt have little hold on it. Moping is sufficient. The Pure black tiles are virtually odorless, REACH-compliant, and independently tested by SGS.
First the floor, then the equipment
Always install the floor before the equipment. Installing a floor underneath a rack or barbell set afterward means moving everything again. We will gladly include the floor in your 3D design free of charge.
Showroom tip: start laying along the longest straight wall and have the cut tiles end up where a rack or machine will be placed later. That way, you will not see the cut. If your space does not work out in full meters, order a few extra tiles.
Which floor for whom?
- Home: Pure black or grey speckle, the most affordable tiles. See how we set up a gym in a garden shed.
- PT studio: a speckle keeps the floor looking neat between cleanings, even with chalk and shoe prints. See fitness equipment for personal trainers.
- Physiotherapy practice: the connect tiles are antibacterial and antifungal. Read how The Hinge Kine set up their practice with an easy-clean sports floor.
- Hotel and corporate gym: the Stone connect is flame retardant. Check with your prevention advisor which fire class your building requires. More at tailor-made corporate fitness.
Frequently Asked Questions
How thick should a rubber sports floor be?
For most home gyms and fitness areas, 2 cm is sufficient. This protects your subfloor when you set down weights in a controlled manner. If you frequently drop heavy weights with bumper plates, discuss with us whether extra cushioning is needed.
Can I install the tiles myself?
Yes. The tiles are loose-laid and held in place per tile with 7 invisible plug connections. You do not glue anything, so you can easily expand later.
Can I lay rubber tiles on parquet or laminate flooring?
The tiles are loose-laid, so your existing floor is not glued down. How your parquet or laminate will react to a rubber floor is best reviewed together based on a photo of your subfloor.
Can a rubber floor be installed over underfloor heating or outdoors?
The Pure black tiles can be laid indoors over underfloor heating. They are also UV-resistant and suitable for outdoor use, for example on a patio.
Do you deliver and install the floor?
Delivery in the Benelux is free from € 199, and you have a 30-day trial period. If we install the floor as part of a complete gym, you can expect installation to cost 10 to 15% of the total furnishing.
What warranty do you get on the tiles?
You get a 3-year warranty on Martech tiles and profiles, and a 2-year warranty on Concept2 products. If you want to see the tiles first, visit our showroom in Ranst or make an appointment.
