Where do you begin with a corporate gym?

A corporate gym starts with the colleagues who will be working out there.

Gauge interest: first check within your company to what extent colleagues are interested in cardio and strength equipment, and if so, which ones. This gives you a shortlist of equipment so you can go to market.
Space: calculate based on the number of people working out simultaneously, not based on the total workforce. 6 to 8 people can comfortably work out at the same time in about 50 m².
Flooring and finishing: consider the flooring as well as the necessary mirrors, lighting, and ventilation.
Guidance: at Fitnessdepot, we see that people who know how to use the equipment use it much more often. Jonas provides midday onboarding sessions, included in the quote.

How much does a corporate gym cost?

A corporate gym starts at around € 8,000. In our examples, a gym for 2 to 3 people at the same time costs approx. € 9,600, for 6 to 8 people approx. € 18,700, and for 12 to 15 people approx. € 42,000, including equipment and flooring. Installation is usually 10 to 15% of the total, and via renting or leasing, you can spread this over 24 to 60 months.

How many m² do you need for corporate fitness?

6 to 8 people can train comfortably at the same time in around 50 m², while 30 m² is often enough for 2 to 3 people. At Septentrio, we laid approximately 53 m² of sports flooring for a strength zone and a cardio zone.

How many employees can train at the same time?

Count on about one person per station: a rack, a bench with weights, and each piece of cardio equipment each count as one spot. Base this on the busiest time, usually around midday or just after working hours, rather than your total staff headcount.

What if employees are not familiar with the equipment?

Jonas Smeuninx, fitness advisor at Fitnessdepot, provides onboarding sessions over midday after delivery, for example two one-hour sessions. These are included in the quote. You can optionally book extra sessions afterwards.

How quickly is a corporate gym operational?

We deliver quickly from our warehouse in Ranst, including on Saturdays and, in specific cases, in the evenings. For installation, you can generally expect a wait of 3 to 4 weeks until there is a slot in the installation schedule. The installation itself goes smoothly: at Septentrio, everything was set up in a single day.

What about maintenance?

You can choose ad hoc maintenance or a multi-year contract where we check everything at fixed intervals. How often depends on usage: the number of hours per day and whether the usage is heavy or light. Maintenance is a paid service and is agreed upon with you in advance.

Which treadmill should you choose for a corporate gym?

A commercial treadmill, because many colleagues will be using the same machine. The Spirit CT800+ is our bestseller for professional environments such as hotels, physiotherapy practices, police stations, and fire departments.

Can a corporate gym be located on an upper floor?

Yes, the Septentrio corporate gym is located on an upper floor. Have the load-bearing capacity checked in advance and lay a rubber sports floor across the entire training zone to dampen vibrations and sound traveling downwards.
