Why this model? The same unit as the M8 2.0 Ace Cable Rack (€ 3,750), but with an integrated smith machine for € 1,000 more. If you want a bench, barbell, and weight plates included, the M8 3IN1 Performance Bundle (€ 4,824) is the alternative, though it lacks swing arms.
Space and ceiling: Footprint 173.5 x 200.7 cm (width incl. protruding barbell and storage horns), height 228 or 238 cm: leave some margin above the frame for assembly and pull-ups. It comes in parts, so doorway clearance is not an issue.
Product description
Martech M8 2.0 Ace - Smith Rack 2 x 100 kg
Following the success of the M8 Performance Rack, the new model is finally here, now also featuring a smith machine: the Martech M8 2.0 Ace Smith! With two center stacks of 100 kg each, no less than 6 cable attachment points, adjustable swing arms, and an integrated smith machine, you get a complete rack for your home.
The Ace Smith is the same unit as the M8 2.0 Ace Cable, but equipped with a smith machine. For anyone who prefers training with a guided barbell, this is the version to choose: it combines free weights, cable training, and smith exercises in a single frame.
The frame is constructed from 3 mm thick steel. The combination of 2:1 and 1:1 ratios makes the M8 2.0 Axis Smith suitable for precise, controlled cable work as well as heavy low rows and pulldowns, each maintaining a full range of motion. Thanks to the included accessories, you can combine multiple training stations into one piece of equipment:
- Smith machine: a guided barbell for squats, lunges, bench presses, shoulder presses, and hip thrusts.
- Half rack: J-cups and spotter arms for squats, overhead presses, and bench presses using free weights.
- Cable station: swing arms, Pro lat pulldown bar, row triangle, low row footrest, and lat pull leg blocker for pulldowns, rows, flyes, presses, and face pulls.
- Pull-up rack: for pull-ups and chin-ups.
- Dip station: adjustable-width dip handles.
- Landmine: for landmine presses, rows, and rotations.
- Extra attachments: XXL triceps rope, cable handles, and an attachment board with 10 hooks to store everything.
Smith machine for controlled strength training
The smith machine allows the barbell to move along a fixed path. As a result, you do not need to balance the barbell yourself and can focus entirely on the muscles you are training. Many athletes use the smith machine to train heavily with a stable, predictable movement path, or to perform exercises such as squats, lunges and hip thrusts in a controlled manner. Because the smith machine is built into the frame, you can choose for each exercise whether to train with free weights or with the guided barbell.
Two cable ratios in one machine
The M8 2.0 Axis Smith works with 6 cable points, which is what makes this device so versatile.
- Swing arms with 2:1 ratio. Through the adjustable arms, you feel half of the stack weight at the handle, with a longer cable pull. This is ideal for long, controlled movements such as flyes, presses, and rotations.
- Center pulleys up to 1:1 ratio. At the bottom and top of the frame are central pulleys for lat pulldowns and low rows. With a single pulley, you work on a 2:1 ratio. If you want to train heavier, you connect a second pulley with the included connector and train on a 1:1 ratio with the full resistance of the weight stacks.
180° swiveling cable arms
The cable arms can be swung open to a wide angle of 180° and adjusted both horizontally and vertically. This allows you to set up every cable exercise according to your own physique and line of movement:
- Wide cable exercises such as flyes, chest presses, and rows with tension throughout the entire movement.
- Targeted, narrow exercises such as face pulls, rotations, and core work.
- A free pulley setup: position the pulley high and pull in the line that works best for you, without being limited to a single fixed pulling position.
Securely fastened, without play
The swing arms can be tightened so that they are securely attached to the frame without any play. As a result, the arms remain stable in place, even during wide flyes where the cables pull on the arms at a wide angle.
Free weights, smith and cables in one
With the J-cups and spotter arms, you can use the Axis Smith as a full-fledged rack for squats, overhead presses and, with a separate workout bench, bench press. The smith machine also offers a guided option for the same core exercises. The landmine adds exercises such as landmine presses, rows and rotations, and the width-adjustable dip handles enable dips for the chest, triceps and shoulders.
Finish
The frame is constructed from 75 x 75 mm box tubing with a 3 mm wall thickness, finished with laser-cut Martech logos. With the included attachment board and 10 hooks, you can neatly store all handles and accessories on the unit.
