Corporate fitness for 100+ employees: Septentrio customer case study
Written by Thibaud Martens, fitness advisor at Fitnessdepot
For Septentrio, a technology company with more than 100 employees, we set up a corporate gym on an upper floor in Leuven, featuring approximately 53 m² of sports flooring: a strength zone where three people can train simultaneously, equipped with a Martech M8 3IN1, a weight bench, and a hexagon dumbbell set, as well as a cardio zone with a treadmill, an upright bike, and a rowing machine. The project ranged from 3D design and material selection to installation and team onboarding. The budget indication was between € 20,000 and € 25,000, including installation.

What the client wanted
- Allow at least three employees to do strength training simultaneously without getting in each other's way.
- An accessible cardio zone for those who are not yet familiar with strength training.
- Open floor for warm-up and mobility.
- A gym that is actually used after the opening.
Our approach
We first created a 3D design, starting from the available floor space and the number of people training simultaneously. On an upper floor, load-bearing capacity, noise, and traffic flow play a role. That is why an Easy Clean sports floor was installed across the entire training surface, custom-cut around walls and pillars and finished with ramp profiles. It absorbs vibrations, dampens sound for the floor below, and protects the underlying surface. The render also helped internally: employees and management could see the result even before the first delivery.
Because different people with different weights and goals use the same equipment every day, we opted for commercial-grade equipment built for intensive use. The Martech M8 3IN1 with counterbalanced smith machine combines a smith machine, a half rack, and cables in a single frame: more variety in less floor space. In addition, there is an HD3000 weight bench and a hexagon dumbbell set from 5 to 30 kg on a two-tier rack. Cardio is often the starting point for new users, so three complementary machines were added: the Upright Bike Pro with low joint impact, the AR Pro X rowing machine that engages the entire body, and the Pro Run X treadmill (up to 25 km/h) for walking, jogging, or running.
The result
A company gym with three distinct zones: strength for three users simultaneously, cardio for every level, and free space to warm up. Upon delivery, the team received an introduction session: how each machine works, how to adjust it to your height, and how to build a basic workout. We also recommend a minimal structure, such as a sign-up sheet or reservation app, basic rules, and possibly group sessions with a supervisor, so that the gym becomes a habit.
Later, Septentrio complemented the gym with a barbell set: 107.5 kg bumper plates with a Martech PRO Bar.
The installation
Our own team installed everything in a single day. Moving heavy equipment to an upper floor requires planning, including protecting stairs and hallways. First the sports floor, custom-cut around walls and pillars, then the strength station and free weights, and finally the cardio zone, so that everything fits precisely as shown in the render. After a technical check of tension, adjustment, and safety, the gym was delivered ready for use, and we took the packaging waste with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you set up a company gym on an upper floor?
Yes. Have the load-bearing capacity of the floor checked in advance and install a rubber sports flooring to dampen vibrations and noise for the floor below.
How long does it take to set up a corporate gym?
Delivery and installation by our own team usually follow 3 to 4 weeks after your order, depending on the period. The installation itself took one day at Septentrio.
Can a company lease fitness equipment?
Yes, you can lease over 24 to 60 months, starting from € 150 per month. An onboarding session for your employees, conducted by Jonas over lunchtime (for example, two one-hour sessions), is included in the quote. More on our financing page.
