Martech M8 in a hotel gym: variants, specifications, and expansions
Written by Thibaud Martens, fitness advisor at Fitnessdepot
A Martech M8 fits well in a hotel gym or compact gym because you get a half rack, a dual cable station, a pull-up bar, a landmine and, on some versions, a smith machine in just a few square meters. Guests of all levels can find exercises suited to them: those who are still unsure can train with the guided barbell or with cables on a light 2:1 ratio, while experienced users can load the rack or train at 1:1 with the full weight stack. Furthermore, a single frame instead of various separate units keeps the space calm and uncluttered.
Why a Martech M8 in a hotel gym
- Many exercises on little floor space. Squats and presses in the half rack, lat pulldowns, rows, flyes and face pulls on the cables, pull-ups, dips and landmine exercises: everything is in one frame.
- Safe for guests working out alone. Spotter arms catch the barbell if a repetition fails. If you choose a version with a smith machine, the barbell runs in a guide; on the 3IN1 Performance, you lock it at 11 hook positions and limit how deep it drops with a rubber stop.
- Cables for every level. On a 2:1 ratio, you feel half of the stack weight at the handle, with a longer cable travel: ideal for beginners and isolation exercises. At 1:1, you train with the full stack, for heavy pulldowns and rows.
- One neat piece of equipment. Every M8 features a pegboard to hang all handles, and the 2IN1 and 3IN1 racks are freestanding, with no mandatory floor anchoring. Housekeeping has fewer loose items to tidy up.
The M8 variants: with or without smith machine
There are five M8 racks. The prices below apply to the rack with the included accessories, including VAT.
| Variant | Smith | Cable ratio | Notable | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M8 2IN1 Precision | No | 1:1 | Cable arms 180° swiveling, pulleys in 34 heights per 5 cm | € 2,900 |
| M8 2IN1 Twinratio | No | 1:1 and 2:1 | Compact and not deep, 4 pulleys in 32 positions | € 3,250 |
| M8 3IN1 Performance | Yes | 1:1 (classic smith) or 2:1 (counterbalanced smith) | Smith, half rack and cable station in one; deeper due to the smith | € 3,999 |
| M8 2.0 Ace Cable Rack | No | 2:1 (swing arms) and 1:1 (center pulleys) | 2 x 100 kg, 6 cable points, swing arms 180° swiveling | € 3,750 |
| M8 2.0 Ace Smith Rack | Yes (20 kg bar) | 2:1 (swing arms) and 1:1 (center pulleys) | The same equipment as the Ace Cable, with an integrated smith machine | € 4.750 |
Choose a version with a smith machine if your guests often train without supervision. With the guided barbell, they do not need to balance the bar themselves. With the 3IN1 Performance, you can choose a counterbalanced smith machine with a starting weight of 0 kg, which is useful if you also expect beginners or older guests. The Ace Smith features a 20 kg barbell and combines both cable ratios.
Choose a version without a smith machine if space is tight or if you mainly want to offer cable training. The Twinratio is compact and shallow, combining 1:1 and 2:1 ratios. The Precision is the entry-level model with swiveling cable arms for wide flyes. The Ace Cable Rack gives you the most cable points, featuring 2 x 100 kg. You can read the comparison between the two entry-level models in Martech M8 Twinratio or Precision.

M8 or M10?
Alongside the M8, there is also the Martech M10. For a hotel gym where every square metre counts, the M8 is often the logical choice because it combines so many stations into one compact frame. If you are in doubt between the two, read our comparison between the Martech M8 and M10.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much space do you need for a Martech M8 in a hotel gym?
The Precision takes up 175 x 125 cm, the 2.0 Ace requires a floor space of 168.6 x 200.7 cm, and the height is between 228 and 239.9 cm. Allow about 1 m of free space around them so guests can train safely.
Is an M8 safe for hotel guests who train unsupervised?
Yes, especially if you choose a version with a smith machine: the bar runs along a guide and on the 3IN1 Performance a rubber stop limits how low it drops. For free weights, spotter arms are included, and the rack of the 2IN1 and 3IN1 can support up to 500 kg.
How does the installation work and can a hotel lease equipment?
Our own team delivers and installs the M8, usually 3 to 4 weeks after your order. You can also lease for 24 to 60 months, starting from € 150 per month; check the options on our financing page.
